Dr. David Benkle,
has been practicing optometry since 1982. He
received his undergraduate training from UC
San Diego. After graduating there, he spent
2 years at the University of North Dakota
attending graduate classes and lecturing in
Beginning Chemistry.
After careful
consideration, Dr. Benkle decided to pursue
a career as an Optometrist and was
priviledged to attend Pacific University's
College of Optometry in Oregon. After
receiving his degree, he purchased a
practice and moved to Stockton, California,
where he still resides.
Dr. Benkle
became involved in the areas Optometry
Professional Association, sitting on the
local board and eventually becoming
President of the San Joaquin Optometric
Society. He then decided he could do more to
further the profession and started
volunteering and working at the state level
for the California Optometric Association.

Working on various committees and programs,
he was elected to the State Board of
Directors, where he eventually moved up to
the highest position as the President of the
California Optometric Association. As
President, he presided over the largest
professional state association in the
country, representing more than 3,000 fellow
Optometrists.
Dr. Benkle has been a
pillar of the Stockton community and serving
families here for almost 30 years. He is
board certified to diagnose and treat most
common eye conditions and infections. He has
had extensive experience working with most
types of vision problems and all types of
contact lenses.
